Updates

If I am interested in a television show, that's pretty much the kiss of death for that program.  I was therefore not even remotely shocked when Jericho was cancelled after its reprieve mini-season.  I was also pleasantly surprised that The Sarah Connor Chronicles was picked up for a second 13 episode season.

Work at that large midwestern research university continues.  Senior management has made it very clear that they revere the status quo above all else.  This is somewhat disconcerting.  While I still have a great job, this means I'm pretty much reduced to waiting for the right people to leave, retire, or drop dead.  Not exactly the most satisfying situation to find oneself in, to be sure.

The second great American novel joins the first on hold as I flesh out a bunch of short stories based on life stories.  It's much lighter and funnier and may actually result in a publishable volume long before the other two.
